This would just about take the magna and the voyager at the lights (if I didn't stall it). I took this photo at the Ferrari shop in Milan recently. The driver space is disturbingly small. I doubt I would have feelings in my legs after 5 minutes
Here's my baby. I first saw one back in March 1989 at the Perth bike show and remember standing in front of the display mesmerised by her beuty. I had to have one. By Oct that year after after a 6 month wait and parting with a fist full of lire she was mine . I have had many bikes over the years but this one is a keeper and I will never sell her. The sound when those big throttle bodies and massive fuel injectors are wide open defies description and the torque . She turns 20 this year and is still to clock 30K. Her name is Madonna .
I have driven a few fast cars over the years.. I dont think I've been in anything that could scare the bejesus out of me than that old escort .
cam had poured so much money into it , gear ratios ,carby
( as if a couple of big assed webbers wern't dropping enough fuel down its throat anyway anyway).. every cent he got got poured into that car to make it go faster.. Didn't have a big top end speed .. 200 or thereabouts .. but it could throw you over the back seat all the way up to it .
I've answered the question in this thread a thousand times in my head, even have categorised versions (dream car if I could only have 1, best under 50, 100, 500K etc, I even have a dream garage for all price ranges that would cover all occasions.
So to avoid boring you all with the details, here's a pic of my current baby. Plenty of room in the back for astro gear
God. Were do I start. I have currently three projects. All to be modified. I have a 1938 Chev ute that will be Hot Rodded. I have a 1964 AP5 Valiant that we are converting to a V8 and will sport a supercharger and I am doing up a VH Commodore for a drag car that will sport a twin turbo 253CI V8.
You have to have something to do till twilight ends!
Whilst in the USA last year I had a discussion with a guy who worked at NASA (now and during the 60s) and he told me a story that I have since confirmed as true. Coco beach had a Chevvy dealer that come up with a bright idea, he would lease a Corvette himself, loan it to a returned Apollo astronaut for 12 months on the premise that it was a reward for their bravery or something like that, what he then did was get the car back at 12 months and sell it to the public at a much higher price than retail as a preowned ex Apollo astronaut vehicle, people would line up for miles to buy that particular car. Very clever indeed. Those cars are now very collectible and worht a lot of money today, the known whereabouts of them is readily available through a variety of sources.
Mine however is a 79 model and Apollo was long gone by then, it is simply an ex-Californian car previously owned by a middle aged woman who couldnt afford to keep paying the ludicrous amount that California want annualy for their smog compliance.
The only thing closely resembling a "toy" I've owned was a '69 Datsun 1600 with worked 180B motor & twin Webers when I was young and silly
Go the Dato !
This is my baby, I cant fit the 12" dob in but then who cares....
