Little Tree Cascade

In the Lake Gunn area, a fallen tree provides a way for a tiny cascade to form in this creek.

I made this photo towards late afternoon where the soft, filtered, golden light made the scene come alive.

Slightly higher resolution here.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
6s f/16.0 at 17.0mm iso100

Comments and critique welcome.

Regards,
Humayun

Lovely shot Humayun,
Judging by the stream, you could've panned for gold while you were there.

Another beauty for the collection, this Lake Gunn area looks like it would be difficult to walk away from.
Think I'd be tempted to become a hermit/hobbit and stay awhile.

Oh and the desktop looks fantastic, thanks again H.

Fabulous image Humayun! I often find that these tiny cascades are more photogenic that full-blown waterfalls. Great job!

Cheers,
Stephen

Adrian,

Cheers. I'll have to look into panning for gold. I wonder what the rules are if you find some overseas whether you can bring it back home with you?

Justin,

It is a pretty nice location; there's views of mountains from there, too. Bit of everything.

You're most welcome.

Stephen,

Cheers, mate. I like both big pounding waterfalls as well as these little running streams. They don't look like much to observe but with longer exposures their beauty shines through. Bit like DSOs.
