M8 Lagoon Nebula in Narrowband

The clouds decided to let me capture some Sii data although the moon was there to keep watch, so here's a total of 14h 20m of Sii+Ha+Oiii of the Lagoon nebula captured using my new QHY9 ccd - Sii 7h40m, Ha 3h, and Oiii 3h40m.

not a big fan of narrow band mapped images usually but really like this-shows a familiar object in a different light

gosh when did you find the break in the clouds for long enough to grab this data?

Captured the Ha and Oiii about month ago was shooting between clouds, most of the Ha and Oiii was taken through thin viel of clouds and the Sii was taken on Friday night with that moon shining.

Thank you Alex, bokglob.

Thank you Ric, I feel the the image had too much green so here is another go with less green.

Personally I like the first rendition better... If you think its too green, try re-combining the data in HSO or HOS.. Assigning Ha to red will give you a more natural looking M8...

When I opened the first link I went ... my eyes! Not used to those colours that's for for sure. Bit of a shock to the system but I have to admit I just love the second rendition. Especially the center. More varieties between the pinks, greens and blues.

After spending many hours you tend to go colour blind

I'm still playing around with different palette.

Yes narrowband tends to bring out the details, and it helps a lot when imaging from my heavy light polluted backyard, the Sii data was taken with that moon shining.

Cheers
