Great stuff guys.
The observatory looks great. Did you design and build it yourselves?
I would love to have the convenience of just leaving everything set up.

Nice work on the image too, all looks good.

Cheers Daniel.

Glad you liked the image Daniel.

I did design the observatory myself. As mentioned before it took me 6 months to build on my own. Slow going with extreme heat and bushfires during summer then rainy days but all finished now thank goodness.

There's a progressive page on our website if you're interested in taking a look. You may get some ideas

Pleased I didn't miss this one. Well done Barb and David. The obs should boost image output and quality. Saving time on the set up will allow you to focus on more important aspects instead of wrestling with equipment each night. You've provided a grand image to boot. Nicely done indeed.

Glad you caught it Jase
The obs sure does save time we get up and running pretty quickly. Have a couple of more objects to process which we captured on Thursday and Friday after I put in two all nighters Barb chickened out and went to bed around 3am

Congrats on both counts, an excellent image for your first light and a fantastic looking Obs.

Cheers

Thanks Ric, Barb did a nice job of processing on this image.

The observatory has certainly made imaging more enjoyable with a permanent set up.

David, if the roost is the obs then my ruling is safe, at least until Barb sees this post.

Glad you like the obs, it took some time to complete as I had never built anything like this before.

Come to think of it, after looking at your site again, and the care and detail youve put into the Obs and the improvement shown in your M8, I hope your next move is a Mod by Ezy Styles at least, or even a CCD in the long term, I think you would produce even more awesome results very quickly.

Thanks mate for the positive comments.

Unfortunately we won't be changing our gear for a while as having just completed the obs and just purchased a new power source and took delivery today of our "Star Stuff" saddle plate and customised C9.25 dovetail plate. ( A beautifully engineered set up by the way ).

We're doing everything we can to eliminate flexure and we think this set up will have a great influence on doing just that. (will post on equip discussions soon)

So our budget has been streeetched to the limit at the moment. Maybe we will venture further sometime next year but at this stage we will just try to get the most out of the gear we have now
