I went to Bunnings this morning and bought my worms.
Marty, they come in boxes not cans.
But so expensive. $27 for 500. And you need a minimum of 1000 to start your farm off.
I'm sure it won't take long for them to multiply.

At risk of being a spammer, there's a game called Worms: a space Oddity (not really spam as its related to space!!), it looks like fun.

And did you know that worms have been sent on the ISS from the University of Pittsburgh and the Baillie Laboratory..."The Pittsburgh worms hope to set a record for the largest number of generations an animal has undergone in space. Such multigenerational studies are a key "proof of concept" for any plans to colonize other planetary bodies. "

heres a link to a related article : http://www.pitt.edu/~biohome/Dept/Fr...rmsinspace.htm

Further interesting worms in space experiment infor can be seen at: http://www.nasa.gov/audience/foreduc..._in_Space.html

(Mods sory if this is spam, please remove if deemed as such).

jjj sounds like your worm farm is well underway, good luck!!

Kerrie

Yes, I thought it was expensive too ... so I only bought 500. Still works, but probably takes a bit longer, but didnt worry me.
Good luck!!

Ah, and we have a coffee house up The Range from here that sells that special coffee, and luckily too expensive to try .... phew .... yucko.

Hey jjj,

Wish you luck with your worm project. Tell 'em to go forth and multiply.

I mulch my garden quite heavily, and have done so for years. Now, when I turn the soil over. Every forkfull has dozens of worms in it. Big, fat long juicy ones.

So, when I get to that stage when 'no body likes me and every body hates me', I can surely go to the garden and look at the worms.

I ain't eatin' them snakes.

Cheers Marty

I've had a worm farm for some years. It lives in a disused chicken coop. I found it knocked over last week with most of the worms on the ground. Seems possums like the veges in the trays as much as the worms.
I have lost 90% of the worms but they seem to be OK.

I have hundreds of dead worms all out the back and front of my verandah
They look like tiny beached whales that have got stuck and dried up on my concrete why do they do this?
