Signs & A Snoozing Alien

Hey All,

Something I have seen around town during my travels;
1. The parking sign is outside an ANZ Bank and
2. The Alien tree lives at Shorncliffe.

Comments welcomed.

Cheers Marty

It looks like the whomping willow from Harry Potter.

Shorncliffe used to be one of my old stomping grounds Marty. I kept my horse down near Hutchisons Slipway on Curlew St, and we'd go riding down the beachfront at low tide.

Hey jjj,

That tree is 30 mtrs South of the intersection of Pier St. and Park Parade. I can get a good view of it on Google Earth.

Yes it is much like that Willow in Harry P. The shape just amazed me when I saw it. It aerial roots and trunk have formed a natural arch over the path.

The bare looking branches give that eerie feeling that they can become flaying, grabbing tentacles.

The fig tree is fairly old. You must have passed it in your travels in and around Shorncliffe.

Maybe it was just an octopus in those days?

Cheers Marty
