Full Moon from 9th May

Well I finally got to process the full moon I shot last Sat night. It was taken with a 40D through a 2x barlow on my 100ed. 1/125sec, iso400.
Could only fit just over half the moon in the fov so it ended up being a total of 12 shots for each half, stacked in registax, levels adjusted in PS and stitched together using Canon's photostitch software.
Not sure if its that clear in the shot but can someone confirm whether I have managed to pick up some craters on the floor of Plato or is it just an anomily in the shot?

Attached is a low res version and a higher res (4.5mb) is at:

Any tips on improving these types of shots appriciated.

Brett

Stunning image, beautiful. I don't think there's much you can do to improve that!

It would look great printed A3 size!

Brett, that's a fantastic image. Did you consider converting it to greyscale to get rid of the bit of colour around the edge?

cheers, Bird

Thanks guys,

And I will try converting to greyscale this weekend and see what happens.
I would like to get some moon shots printed out so this might be my first one

The best Moon I have seen for a while.

Excellent contrast and detail.
The focus must have been spot on to get the detail that you have there.
Well done.

Geoffro.
