I really lik the Crux widefield jjjnettie fo many obvious reasons. They are all in the image and the excecution. Well done! You must have had very dark skies to capture that lovely colour and detail.

wow beautiful pics JJJ now you really making me want to go and buy that GSTAR video cam even if i get one beautiful shot of something it would put a smile on my face for a year keep em coming JJJ

Sorry Jen, but I took this one with the Canon 20D.
I'll be using the Gstar again after I buy a new power adapter.

I've yet to attempt a widefield...but your images are an inspiration.

How critical is ploar alignment with exposures of only a minute in length?

Matt,
That's the beauty of such a wide field, your polar alignment doesn't have to be pedantic. I used an alt azi mount so I'm up against field rotation as well. One minute is the max I can use.
