Another M83

Imaged under good seeing conditions, I am reasonably satisfied with this image after many disappointing attempts on this object.

3 hrs L, 1 hr R, 1 hr G, 1 hr B ST-X10ME, BRC-250.

Great image Steven

I really like the pink of the emission nebula in the spiral arms. I'll go back to the drawing board and blend some Ha into mine and see if it comes up to snuff

Thanks for sharing that with us

A very lovely image there Steven. Great detail & colour, nice image scale - definitley has ooooo aaaaahh appeal. Excellent job!

Being picky - I'd probably remove the processing artifacts (dark halos) from around the stars though.

Cheers, Marcus

Nice image Steven, The stars seem to have a bit of a dark halo around them. Looks a bit like a sharpening or reducing effect. Makes the image look a bit hollow to me.

Thanks for the feedback.

Here is M83 again hopefully with the dark halos gone (difficult to see on my monitor) and less aggressive processing.

Just look at those active star-forming regions in the spiral arms! Fascinating!
