Moon 6th March

This is a single frame 1/400th sec ISO 100 taken on my 1000D on Apoman's refractor on the weekend.

Processed by converting to greyscale, then levels, curves, unsharp mask & crop.

C&C welcome on the processing. I realised later on that I could have used mirror lockup on the shot, I don't know if it would made for a sharper capture?

I don't think there's much more you can do to that, Andrew. Maybe mask out the brighter area where the detail is lost?

Beautiful shot.

Thanks for the comments.

I might have to visit my photoshop tutorials again. I'm not too proficient with creating a mask - I have done it before in a tutorial though. A mask would also help bring out some detail on the terminator, which is lost a bit by the processing which was aimed at bringing out the detail on the illuminated half to make the image as a whole more interesting.

Looks good Kal,

The difference in contrast between the darker and lighter regions is always a compromise, exposure wise, however I thinks the balance in your image is about as good as it can be.

Well done
Regards
Trevor
