Repro 2070

Hi All

I've been messing around with my Tarantula post from the other day ... I think this is better. I confess I've only done adjustments on the web image to see how it would go so it could potentially be better if I worked on the original file. Anyway ... what do you think ... I've reposted first version for comparison.

The repro looks a lot punchier! I like it... Keep your eye on the core though.. looks a little over cooked in the core...

I'd have a go at the original image if I were you...

Nice.

Agree with Alex,
punchier, better contrast but at a cost on the core
well worth a go on the original

Thanks Alex ... it is always difficult working on small images but I think I didn't do too bad with the core considering.

Thanks Gary ... correct colours are usually a point of contention but I think they are right too based on other images I have seen !

Great work Steve. Dark skies are clearly the answer...I like the second image out of the two. Not sure what you've done with the stars on this repro. They look a little crunchy/harsh as though they've been over emphasised through sharpening or similar...maybe raised the white point too high to start with...not sure. This is a minor detail anyway. Look forward to seeing more.

Thanks Jase ... dark skies make a world of difference as you know. I'm not sure what happened to the stars they do look different in this image compared to others from same night in previous post.

Cheers Dave ... there are some images that you think " there is more in there than I've managed to extract first time around " and you just have to keep at them 'till your happy. This was one of those. Glad you like it.

Steve,

Nice work, mate. The reprocessed image has more of a 3-dimensional feel.

Now, go forth and reprocess the original file!

Regards,
Humayun

Hi Steve, what were your subs mate?

I have imaged tarantuala time and time again. For such an easy sucker to aquire and capture, it is a mongrel to get right. I want to have another go at it soon.

Baz.

Nice job BTW, I like the second one better.
