Ngc 3223

G'day all,

Last night was one of those rare times when I focussed my LX200 on one object for the whole night! NGC 3223 was the lucky candidate. I'd spotted it in the results from my NGC imaging not long ago as a nice target for my setup.

The image:

Tried to upload the image to IIS but something going wrong with my mobile connection

165 minutes total.

I would have several more hours data except at 00:45 guide star acquisition failed and then at some point in the night the LX200 had some kind of failure resulting in the observatory semlling like burning electronics. .. but, switching off/on it now seems to work fine again.

I'm quite happy with the result, but would like to sharpen up the spiral arms more. I feel there's more detail in them than I have brought out. But haven't found the right combination of sharpenning filters etc.

Roger.

Hmmmm, quite a nice result indeed Roger, but that burning smell has me a bit worried, well done.

Well done on a small target! Hope there is nothing serious with the electronics!

I hope to get onto some 'harder' images like this if the weather ever improves. Nice one. Hope your LX is OK

Nice smooth Lum Roger. Well done. It's worthy of some RGB data...

Great shot Roger. The 7 certainly does pick up the detail in the arms spectacularly. Nice!

It's not too faint I think, but I've tried not to push the levels in processing, didn't want to bring out noise and seemed to be showing all the arms sufficiently.

Yeah, so far the LX is OK. Unsure what if any damage has been caused. It's a shame to have a hint of another problem, I need this scope to last!
