New Gear arrived - Pics inside

Arrived home to a number of boxes in my living room yesterday. I've been mulling over the fact to "get guiding" for sometime so I can really start to retrieve some serious data and have taken the plunge..

I sold the excellent HEQ5-Pro and upgraded to a EQ6-Pro, bought an 8" f/5 GSO Reflector and mounted my Vixen ED81S ontop for both guiding aswell as widefield imaging.

Thanks to some great advise I also purchased an Orion Starshoot Autoguider which I later found out is a re-cased QHY5.

Waiting for the new telescope rains to pass then I'll get cracking!

Thanks for looking.

Good-sized and well colour-coded knobs on the rear of that OTA!

Awesome set up you've got there prova. Are you going to use a DSLR with the GSO for imaging? Will you have to modify the tube to reach focus?

Thanks Michael.

I have a Canon 350D DSLR which I'll use for deep-sky imaging. As far as focus goes, I have the extension tubes to ensure that won't be an issue.

Cheers

Awesome looking setup Mark. Glad that everything arrived safely. All you got to do now is wait for some clear skies.

Nice looking package there. I see there are 5 of us in the Canberra region in this one thread and 2 of us have fairly new EQ6-Pros. No wonder the skies have been cloudy.

l'm using the 8" f/5 as part of my portable setup for imaging, l haven't actually taken any pics as yet as l'm getting used to the Argo Navis first.
lt should produce some nice reasonably wide field views but without a coma corrector it really is a dog of a scope visually.

Ah yes...

I have gear in the mail heading my way from Bintel + a modded 350D is due at my front door sometime next week. So I'd expect the clouds to persist for a while yet
