Hi Barry

Brilliant product, love it.

I read somewhere that version 10 is not compatible with Stellarium Scope. Do you know whether this has been addressed?

Hi

The new release of version 0.10.1 is underway. The Mac and Linux packages are on the site ready for download. The Windows version is waiting on the program being up loaded to stellarium.org. I have the package ready but I don't have the facilities to upload it and it is too big to send to the project leader by email so we may need to wait till someone else can make a package or I can get permission to upload it.

The new release has all the deficiencies of the 0.10.0 beta release corrected although we still only have a rudimmentary scripting feature. This will be improved on bit by bit as new software is created. Yes telescope control has been reinstated and the search feature repaired. This has been added to by third party ascom control software. There has been a lot of not immediately noticeable changes to make the display more lifelike including user control of how and what is displayed.

There is a new method of inserting nebula photos with the eventual facility to display DSS sky views. We have the permissions to use these but need to write the necessary interfaces.

I have managed to get the Stellarium 0.10.1 program installer to the project leader and It should appear on the web site by the week end. It appears that most of the future windows builds will be up to me now as I have been accepted into the stellarium launchpad team.

Hi Erik and Toryglen

Firstly the download speed is probably the result of the load on the server. everyone has been waiting for the windows release for about a week now. It took me a week to get the Windows installer onto the web site and it was only completed last night. I could not send 40MB in one go. I ended up splitting it into 6 pieces and sent it as attachments to 6 emails.

To download you need to click in stellarium on the top line of the screen and then in the next screen click on download. This will give all the optional downloads.

If you have trouble I can supply the program on DVD but you will need to pick it up from me or send me your name and address (PM) and and $5.00 to cover the postage.

Yep, must be busy. Unfortunately I got an error at the end of 50min download time and the file wasn't saved. I'll try again another time. Thanks Barry.

I have downloaded version 0.10.1 for Windows for my laptop running Windows XP.
Upon installation I have error message;
-------------------------------------
"Microsoft Visual C++ - Runtime Error
ProgramC:\Program Files\Stellarium.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information"
------------------------------------------------------
then another error message;
-------------------------------
"stellarium:Stellarium.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x6a28775c" referenced memeory at "0x00000044". The memory could not be "read".
------------------------------------
I deleted V10.1 then did a complete new d/l without fixing the problem.
Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?
Peter

Sounds like you need to update the C++ runtime library in Windows. Just goto the downloads site at MS and grab it.

Hi,
I am confused by the number of google hits I got when searching MS C++ runtime.
Can someone please provide a link so that dummies like me can find the correct file(s)?
Peter
PS why did I delete 0.9.1? It was working.

That error screen is the same one I got when we first started using Qt 4.4.3 . Qt 4.4.3 has some changes to the graphics interface and requires new drivers for the video screen. This happened in October last year. Check that you have the latest (post October 2008) video drivers.

Also if you are using Vista you may need administrator priviledges to write to some areas of the computer. This also produces the same error screen.
