Horse Mak-Newt

I captured this area a few weeks ago, the hot nights didn't help the noise in the image. Taken with Orion 190 Mak- Newt, QHY8 2 hours Ha 1 hour RGB on eq6 mount.
Clear skies

Nice image Ken. We've been waiting to see more with your new toy

David and I had a go of this last night, we didn't get going until super late due to a) spending time getting the correct framing and b) trying to lock onto a decent guide star. Only managed 6 x 10mins (with ICNR on) before the house got in the way The 350D didn't handle the warm temps very well, 27 degrees falling slowly to 23 (ambient temp).

Very nice image Ken. I don't know about it being noisy. In an area with so much nebulosity it is dificult to end up without areas where there is some drop in SNR which appears as noise. The areas that are fully saturated are nice and smooth.
Nicely captured.

Thanks guys for the feed back, I guess this object has been imaged to death but it still is a interesting area of the sky. Hagar might be right about the background Nebulosity pushing it to hard for the amount of data can make it look noisy. Smoke everywhere last night no hope of getting out and trying my new QHY9 camera.
Clear skies Ken

But you still have got to love it Ken...nice image, this object can never be imaged to death because you can never stop looking at all of the different attempts, you see something different every time.

Hi Ken,

That mak-newt is a beast! Great image. Heaps of detail there.

The QHY9 should be an excellent camera. Look forward to seeing some more images.

Cheers
David
