GSO .5 focal reducer

Anyone used one on a refractor feedback would be appreciated.

I bought one of these
http://moggadapters.com/astro/adapter.asp
and I think it's great.
Not top shelf quality, more top of the middle shelf if you know what I mean.
I took my latest Flame and Horsehead image through one of these using my SW 120. http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ad.php?t=40320
Wouldn't mine putting it on an extension tube as suggested on Steve's site, and get an even bigger FOV.

Hi Jeanette

Thanks for the feedback but I was specifically looking at the GSO brand to use on either my f7 or f5 to potentially obtained f3.5 or f2.5 with the refractors dramatically increasing the field of view.

Cheers

trevor i have a 0.5 antares which looks very similar to gso. Have used it in the moon with my intes mak, increased the spae around the moon/reduced size nicely..it is right at the focus level of the instrument though - still to play with different extension tubes

Thanks for the feedback I ended up buying one but unfortunately there is not enough inwards travel on my 80ed focuser for it to come to focus. I need to be able to screw the adapter directly on too a T-ring somehow. Note?:what focusing I did achieve in th 80 f/7 showed a fair amount of vignetting. Will report further when I try it on the 120 f/5.

If all else fails I'll have one for when I do end up getting a Vixen 200 vcml f/9
