Quick Eta

Hi All

Last night was the first relatively calm night here for weeks so I set up on my temporary slab observatory and did a quick shoot ( 30 mins ) of Eta before moonrise and windshift.
We had terrible smoke blanket the valley from bushfires in the Perth area during the day and I suspect there was still some in the air last night .... there certainly is today as I post this. Anyway I hope you like it ... could have done with at least another 30 mins but the wind started to blow and I had no protection without my obs

Not bad Steve. Dynamic range looks a little suppressed to me...to short a distance between highlights and midtones. Perhaps repro is on order or wait until you acquire more data with better conditions.

The first thing you need is good data Trevor otherwise all the processing in the world won't help. Unfortunately in this game good data usually comes at a price i.e. expensive equipment to shoot the image.

I tend to agree Jase ... the image looked better on the laptop that I processed it on ... I was disappointed when I posted it from my desktop and viewed the pic. So repro could be on the cards and definitely more data.

Holey moley Steve. Nice 'Quick" shot.

It's all so much fun isn't it?

Out here again tonight trying to get in before moonrise. We have the best hobby don't we folks?

Baz.

I won't be outside tonight Baz .... we've gone from smoke to complete cloud cover with the added joy of humidity and no breeze after a daytime temp of 39 degrees. I hope you have a good night mate !
