Landscapes from Lostock

Finally... the pictures that broke my 'puter...

The first 2 are HDR and the 4th has had the shadows and highlights treatment.

Two lenses used: 8mm fisheye and the 14-42mm with UV, ND8 and ND4 filters to allow the long exposures to smooth out the water...

Still more to process, so I'll post more if you want to see them...

Al.

The full size No 2 is showing up as corrupted for me (but the thumbnail is OK). This suggests that it uploaded OK, but was corrupted downloading back to me... let me know if it is corrupted and I'll replace it.

I don't seem to be able to fix it by reloading the page.

Some HDR shots taken with the 8m fisheye lens around the river at the campsite and some shots from a walk up the road with the 14-42mm lens. Number 5 and 6 are as shot - no additional processing other than save for the web and a black border, and No 7 I used shadows and highlights to try to bring some colour/detail back in the sky (with partial success).

...oh and a macro for Ving! (Actually I'm pretty happy how this turned out... I took the shot with flash but it very nearly burned out the thistle head, so I took another without flash but the framing effect didn't work. they were both hand held attempts so a HDR version was out of the question... but I used shadows and highlights to tone down the brightness on the thistle head. Not perfect, but not bad either I think. I must remember that trick in future.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Not much doubt No5 of the first lot is the pick I think. I love the effect of long exposures on water.

It's hard to get the swing to stay still in the swimming hole too... I don't know if I like the "ghost swing" effect.

Yes, it's good to see. Some of it may be seasonal, but hopefully it is because they've been getting a bit of rain as well.

How do I add photos

I'm a first time caller and would like to share some photos of Lostock IISSP but I'm not sure how to go about it. Could someone let me know step by step.

All the photos I've seen so far have been out of this world so to speak.

Thanks

Hi Chris,

Welcome to the forum.

To post an image (or images), you just have to make sure that they're under 200 KB in size. If you're unsure of how to determine the size of the image, reply back here and I'll guide you through it.

But, basically, you click the button up the top which says "New Thread".

In there, type whatever you would like for the topic/subject and your message. To add images: down the bottom half of the page, press the Manage Attachments button. A new window will pop up. In there, you can browse to wherever your files are stored on your computer, and upload them to IceInSpace. Once the images have been uploaded, you will see that they will be listed at the bottom of the new window that you were uploading files from. You can then safely close that window, and just press "Submit Reply" or "Preview Post" to see how it will look when eventually submitted!

Good luck!

Regards,
Humayun

Yes, well, it was probably even a bit on the cool side for me to be in the waterhole!

Tanks Humayun for yor reply.....so here goes.
Just a couple of pics that I took at Locstock.
I had a great time there even though the weather was against us it was good to see what everybody else was up to and listen to all the round table conversations. By the way my favorite colour is Blue also... (inside joke).
I would like to thank..sorry I can't remember Her name..for letting me play Her guitar...what a lovely instrument.

Cheers
Chris
