Bookmarked .... do you think it is worth using instead of other apps used for astroimaging ? I'm still tinkering with my 10" OTA upgrade so am yet to turn my 40D onto the nightsky and so will be looking for an effective processing app when I do.

Some really great functions are the dynamic background extraction and the SNGBR noise reduction function. The DBE is great for light pollution and vignetting.
Dietmar I think did some tutorials on these functions that are very good. There are also a number of good tutorials on the Pixinsight website.
Agree with Mike that the full functionality is awesome and Im sure Im not using it to a fraction of what it is capable of. Would love to pick up tips from anyone with some experience using it.

trying to find some information or a full manual/video?
Hi David,
What an excellent application, the freeware version of Pixlnsight, although apparently obsolete looks good to me. Have downloaded an installed it along with all of the tutorials.
I can see possibilities in reworking some of my old 35mm film deep sky stuff, this really would seem to offer a great intro into image processing. The new Standard version most be a snorker.
Thanks for posting this link and a special thanks to the team that developed Pixlnsight .
a few web sites i googled said that there were video tutorials on using this little beastie - be buggered if i can find them - broken links that no longer work?
