an unofficial announcement

an unofficial announcement

to raise some much needed funds for my Relay for Life i am going to offer a very unusual competition. For a small donation of $2 or more you get a ticket in a very unusual raffle. The winner of the "raffle" will have the opportunity of throwing a Meade ultra wide angle 2" series 5000 24mm eyepiece at a yet to be designated location at the camp. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to toss a $500 eyepiece and not feel the least bit guilty that it is yours!! with over 100 adults going I should be able to easily crack $100 for Relay for Life - and have the video rights to boot LOL. Come one come all the throwing of the holy hand grenade will take place on Friday before dinner. I urge all IISAC participants to take part in this raffle and you have the opportunity to possibly hold a world record for the longest distance for throwing a Meade Series 5000 2" eyepiece. and it will be officially recorded for posterity on video for all the world to see

please note the competition will not go ahead until I have surpassed $100 (donations of $2 or more are tax deductable - and I have a receipt book)

if nothing else this is an opportunity to register for ISSAC just to come and watch, and enjoy the weekend. think of it as the sacrifice to the weather gods

That is a great idea Dave. You should easily get past the $100 mark. It is going to be interesting to watch if it goes ahead.

Just a question. Say you win the raffle, do you have an option of keeping the eyepiece instead?

And can we try to catch the eyepiece at the opposite end.

And in any case Matty, we're imagers so it won't matter to us that Houghy stripped the protective coating off his EP by using his wife's nail polish remover to clean it.
