Lobster Nebula - NGC 6357

Here's an attempt at the Lobster Nebula - NGC 6357.

Its 6 x 5 minutes at 800ISO along with 3 x 5 minutes darks.
Stacked using DSS and (Over) processed in CS3.

Taken last night - 30 Sept

I think I'm losing something in the processing, maybe its the Orion broadband DSF I'm using I don't know because I appear to be losing the colours of the stars.

Any ideas?

Paul

Nice picture. Bit dark but framing's great. Cool object.

Thanks Marc for your input.
I've actually cropped to suit, I should have mentioned that.

In all essence then with the image on the dark side I need to lighten up the background?

It's a cool picture. It's just that I like a softer look, not too much contrast. At the end of the day it's just a matter of personal preference. You've got to go with what you're happy with. Everybody will have a different opinion
