EQ6 Losmandy Saddle

Hi All,

I thought this might be of interest to those who have an EQ6 mount, an upgrade made by ADM to allow the use of Losmandy dovetail plates.

I just purchased one from OptCorp (www.optcorp.com) in the States, haven't given it a night time test run but have attached some pics;

I've got the synta bar to losmandy adapter from ADM, however I'll be eventually going to one of those... I just got the adapter for my current side by side bar so I can put a losmandy plate on my C11... the Synta dovebar just does not feel sturdy... I've bought a few things so far directly from ADM accessories, and I feel the build quality is superb...

From the pics I'd say that adapter is no different..

Amoeba, I have that exact unit, I bought it direct from ADM about eight months ago. It works very well and is a considerable improvement in mount/OTA stiffness over the standard Vixen style narrow dovetail.

how much did this cost you in aussi$......looks very similar to the new skywatcher eq6 mount head that takes their new 12 inch newtonian tube,which im told by tasco they will not import to Australia.It sure makes it easier to have an eq6 cope with a 12 newt. which you can buy as an ota very cheap. qld

I was delighted to confirm the Vixen Atlux matches the Losmandy Takashi head for their mainstream D series plates.

No, you would need a adapter to go from the losmandy style to the smaller vixen dovetail.
