Cant Buy New Equipment

Dont you really love it when you buy a nice new piece of equipment such as the Argo-Navis ,Set all the encoders up the night before then wake up in the morning with all fingers crossed for a good night observing only to see wall to wall cloud with no hope of it clearing , well it happened ( Murphy`s Law ) .....gotta love it...OH p.s NightStalker you prezzie is on its way expect it wednesday..cheers Kev.

What can you do?

It is understood between all amatuer astronomers that when you purchase new equipment, expect it to be cloudy for the next month or two.

It is just how it works.

Yeah that's called the Melbourne Effect. Yesterday has a promising forecast then at the last minute it was changed to include cloud, and sure enough a layer of high cloud enveloped the sky. Naturally.

We can generaly live with the low clouds here as they generally burn off at dusk, but when the high clouds are there you can forget about it..........but we`ll take the rain ......cheers Kev.

Friday was cloud and light rain, clouds started to clear a bit as it got dark so didn't set up my scope last night. Beautiful clear day in Perth but I've got an engagement party to go too tonight for one of my nieces, don't you love em to pieces, the weekends the only real time I can get to do any serious viewing etc. Maybe tommorow night but bet ya clouds roll back in and being Sunday I can't make it a late one anyhow !!

Roll on retirement, country skys and a permanent place to set up my gear ah!! bliss.

Dreaming is nice and doesn't cost anything.

Canon 450D modded by ezystyles.

I decided on this one mainly due to weight and that it is better than my 350D, I didn't really want to mod my 350D as it is getting on a bit, I'd rather take it on trips and I won't worry if it gets bumped around.
Other reasons are it's 14 bit, live view, can be controlled by a laptop through just a usb cable and it's new and shiny.
