Brisbane Terrestrial Imaging day
Hi guys,
As some of the members here know I live at Tingalpa Brisbane and would love to meet up with some of you guys to gain a little knowledge in terrestrial imaging.
I am on holidays for the next 2 weeks so if anyone has anytime to spare we should make some time to meet.
The more the better.
If anyone is interested please throw up some times place & date's and see if anyone is interested.
It doesn't have to be all day thing just a few hours is fine or untill we have had enough.
I am very keen and can travel.

Hi Tony
Would love to, although due to current medical matters in the extended family I can’t really pin down an exact time/date. But if something firms up, I’ll pencil it in the diary and hope we are free that day as it would be great to catch up with you and others.
Cheers
Dennis

I was thinking the same thing the other day - given the input from SEQld'ers recently in this section. I am not sure of when (but I will endeavour to fit it in because I am really keen for this), but some suggestions for where...
Roma Street Parklands
Boondal Wetlands
Karawathah Forest
Southbank
Mt Cootha / Botanical Gardens
City Botanical Gardens

Hi Tony, I'd be happy to participate in such an event.
What sort of things did you want to learn? I know you have the digtal processing down pat judging from your Astro images. I have a degree in photography with 1st class honours, I used to teach digital imaging at Griffith UNI and now I'm currently working as a retouching artist for advertising and fashion photography. I may be able to help with some technical questions but it would be great if you could outline some of the things you would like to learn / cover when we meet up.
I'm also on holidays for this week, sounds like it could be a fun meeting.
Cheers,
Dave.
Ps. I'd love to swap some traditional photography knowledge for some Astro tips

Wow thats great Dave,
I am new to terrestrial imaging so I would like to learn how to do everything such landscape, Portrait, wildlife and why not Sports photography.
I am familiar with Photoshop but there would be other techniques used for this type of photography.
In general I just need a guide or push in the right direction I then flow on from that.
It would be great if I/we could learn from you Dave.
When are you available this week Dave, your not far from my place at Tingalpa either.

cool Tony, rather than teaching different genres of photography it's usually best to learn how all the different elements of photgraphy work, then it's much simpler to learn how to apply these to each different diciplines.
It looks like you've got some great gear to be playing with.
I don't wish to take over or run this thing, but if a few people want to meet together this week I'd love to come along. We can all learn from
eachother.

oh... And anytime this week should be good!
I've recently worked 90 days straight, so I've not planned anything for my days off.

Ok I how about the Mt Cootha Botanical gardens there surely has to be heaps to image there and we can grab a coffee at the cafe.
I will contact them today to see if there is any costs involved.
How about Tomorrow Wednesday or Thursday.
They are open from 9:00am-4:30pm
Atleast this is fairly central.
Dennis and Dave if you need a lift I can take you...not sure where Alex lives and sorry Andrew your on the wrong side of town but I know you will understand.
This is just a suggestion as I need to make one otherwise we will be speaking about this for weeks to come.
Hope you guys can attend.

OK times at the Mt Cootha Botanical gardens are 8:00am -5:00pm free parking and free entry you just have to buy me an Iced coffee...joking.
Wedensday or Thursday suits me and I can understand people have to work but if this doesn't work for you we can make more times to suit.

How about we aim for Thursday morning, say 10am to miss the traffic?
Everyone should bring laptops too if they have them so we can all view our shots.
