Nothing wrong with that one Doug, pretty sharp really, yea, and I know how you feel about the weather, it has been a bad winter of late.

Keep at it mate, your producing some nice stuff.

Mike, Alex, Leon, Jeff...Thanks for the comments.

Not only the weather has been against me and my imaging - the screen backlight in the laptop stuffed up (I wondered if the dew and moisture it's exposed to was to blame!!??) - I initially thought it was a virus as the fault coincided with my son's latest Limewire download, so tried to reinstall XP Home. Half way through the install a "Corrupt Disc - can't proceed " message appeared!!! So a new XP was needed too - $300 later, this is the first image I've done with the repaired setup!!

Cheers all
Doug

No Stuart, that filter is on my shopping list though!
At my location, images start to suffer from light pollution/skyglow effects after 5-10mins so the LPS2 filter will help me go deeper I hope.
I suffer the effects of dew badly also - so something from Kendrick or Orion will be needed soon too.
Never ends mate, does it!?
Doug

ps - then there's the mount...don't get me started on the mount!!!!

Great image Doug,

I like seeing what the Canon glass can do with the right know how, it gives me something to aspire towards with my 70-200.

Holy Cow Doug, I almost fell into that!

Phenomenal amount of stars there!

I have to say this, your images blow me away! That is absolutely top notch! I could stare at it for hours. That previous shot you did of the Rho complex was totally awesome, this one is just mind boggling for how many stars there are around M7, all I see is the middle bit!

Not to sound weird or anything but yours and AlexN's photos are my favourite stops in IIS, its astounding what you guys can do and its always impressive!

Not that I am not impressed with all of the extremely talented shots posted here, its just that I always take time to look at both of your posts. I dont always comment, but I always look. Fantastic!

Keep up the great work! Hopefully Alex has some money left for Internet access, what with all those purchases! Grats on the G11!

Where is my collapsible dob by the way Mr Moneybags???? huh?

Cheers

Chris

Thanks so much Fred and Chris for the extremely kind comments.
I'm very lucky to have reasonably dark skies where I live which helps no end in producing half-decent results from my "budget" gear.
Cheers chaps!
Doug

ps...Chris, I know what you mean re the sheer numbers of stars - M7 is almost lost to the background mist of stars!

A lovely image Doug, this certainly is a spectacular region of the sky and I think you have captured it wonderfully.
