Hmm, didn't see it from Brissie and we were out from 9:30am to around noon, at the Port of Brisbane, taking some photos of birds at the Visitor Centre.
I got this shot of a sun halo in Japan in April, with a couple of jet trails included. I also saw the halo on the Goldie that you're talking about, I always look out for stuff like this, something interesting in the sky day or night. This one in Japan was very obvious and pronounced.
I noticed it was around all day, though not as pronounced as it was in the morning, also very faint around the moon when I got home from work last night,
