quick jupiter from Nambucca

I'm in Nambucca heads on holiday (with the scope of course!) and on Wednesday night there was some very good seeing.

This is a quick and nasty process on my laptop, so the colour and sharpness will not be right, but it gives you the idea of what the seeing was like. When I get home in a week and a bit I'll re-process this properly.

Taken at about 2.26am local time.

Mike joins me here tomorrow for a week, fingers crossed for more good seeing!

cheers, Bird

Very nice Anthony, I would be interested to see a usual process when you get home of this avi next to this quick version.

Be good to see how much more you can bring out on this image.

Have a good holiday.

Yeah, im waiting with baited breath for the results from them once its all done and dusted... I was going to be there with them except my boss had other plans... I tell ya what i was about 1° of heated temper away from quitting my job to head down...

Then realised I needed the job to keep buying astro-toys~

And that was the cheap and nasty version....if that's the case the "give it time to rise" version is going to look like the Mona Lisa!!!!!

Geez, I'd be more than happy for THAT being my crowning glory version!!!

That piccie is absolutely brilliant!!!. The air up there must've been crystal clear to get that sort of detail. Mike's going to be in heaven if that's the sort of piccie he'll get out at the Heads

Can I give you some advice??....DON'T TOUCH THAT PICTURE!!!!!

Clear skies, fellas, and I hope another night as good as the last one. We all want to see seminal shots of Jupiter...so good that they're like looking at it from close up!!!

Classic, Just make sure that you check for any vaseline on your CCD chip before you take any more shots Anthony, or perhaps some glad wrap over the scope's aperture.

Mike, I've found a handful of freshly dug up turf down the open aperture works a charm...
