Floating Metropolis

Still playing with old images

This time cropped and rotated my NGC 253 for a different framing than usual, kind of looks like you are approaching it in your spaceship ready for docking...?

Note the miriad of vertical gas streamers rising from all over the disk of the galaxy and particularly from the central regions..?..early morning venting plumes from airconditioning units on high rise buildings perhaps?

Very nice mate, most times it is presented at an angle, looks quide different when seen horozontal like that. One must wonder what it would be like living in a solar system near the bright core. You'd never know darkness.

Lovely image Mike.
All you need is a few more frames a billion or so years apart and you would have a nice rotation animation!!!!
That 45 degree shift in orientation make a huge difference in the way I perceive the image - the mental image of a metropolis in space is spot on.
