Nice photos Dave, but boy, that blue iris sure looks spooky. Are the terms Raven and Crow interchangeable, or are they different bird types?

they are apparently quite different birds. I have been corrected many times with this but at leaast now i know for certain that the locals are australian ravens

1 can walk and the other hops cant remember which though

raven i think walks ?

The raven has a dangly bit under the beak I understand. It probably have a technical term, but dangly bit is about my level of technicality with birds.

Thanks guys! To make matters worse, we also had Jackdaws in the UK – another big, black, noisy bird to confuse me.
