The skies are absolutely stunning here lately!
I was probably only 50m away from the runway where i normally set up, so for a thing that size......yeah it was really close, when they left they sit there and rev their engines up and a huge cloud of dust rips up and the noise just goes right through you, its a real buzz!

Thats true Glen! I hope they don't stuff up one day while i'm there! lol

It's quite amazing though watching them do the short take-off and landing, they usually stick glow sticks up and down the runway at night and do their stuff with no lights on at all......in the blackness of the sky you can just about see them when they're a kilometre away and yet you can't hear them at all!

Hi Ric and RB, YES i am glad it isn't a crop duster!! They threw up enough dust as it was!!!! But the BBQ cover i use for the telescope did its job!

I actually had a few local onlookers come up to view the plane doing its thing, in the meantime they had a look at the moon and Saturn. Some of the locals went and had a chat to the Air Force guys once they landed, they are quite a friendly bunch! The locals enjoyed the sky views too.....

I love my BBQ cover, I bought it especially for my scopes and it fits perfectly. Can't do without it.
