Supernova Remanant - Pencil Nebula
Hi Guys,
Heres a shot of the Pencil Nebula much like the veil nebula NGC2736 taken afew days ago. 12 x 7 minutes exposure at ISO 400.

Beautiful image Eric. I bet it's hard to locate. Colours look great -vivid red and green in the nebula on my monitor.

Great shot Eric, nice to see all these less common objects.
It is only just visible in a 10" with a UHC filter, and slightly brighter in a 12".
John Herschel did well to find it. (#3145 in his catalogue)
It is 2.8 degrees from lambda Vel in pa 208.

Thanks Glen. its great to see observers like yourself can look up into the night sky and compared what you see to an image. i really enjoy seeing observers using my images as a reference. thanks mate.
