Cedar Creek

Just to prove that I take photos of more than just bugs, here are some from Cedar Creek (just north of Brisbane).

Shots were taken in dark overcast conditions using a CPL to reduce the light even further and with the lens (17-85 from memory) stopped down to the maximum. The metered shutter times (shooting in AV) vary for each shot, but most were around 8 to 10 seconds. There is also a shot in the Feb photo comp from this series which I didn't bother posting again (and the reason why I didn't post earlier )

Hi Andrew,

Beautiful shots with good use of time exposure to show the movement of the
water and good exposure levels across the entire field of view.

Thanks for sharing.

Best Regards

Gary

These are just stunning Andrew !

Almost like they're done in HDR, my initial thought was that maybe it was bracketed HDR or tone-mapped.

Beautiful location too.

Thanks guys. I just noticed that the images are a little pixelated - probably jpeg compression due to saving them at between 50 and 60% quality in Irfanview to meet the size requirements. The full size images are pretty sharp, in-fact number 1 is my wall paper at the moment. I'll try to upload some better quality images somewhere and post the links in here when i get a chance.

A very pleasing and beautiful portfolio Andrew. I feel calm, at peace and at one with the cosmos just contemplating them. Ahhh, oh so serene; I feel the need to meditate now! LOL

Cheers

Dennis

'Ethereal' would be my description. Some lovely shots with a calm, misty feeling, well done!

I was out near there last Saturday night at Mt. Sampson for a party!

The stars were great.

Great photos Andrew and very evocative. I spent a lot of time in my youth rambling around the Dayboro and Samford area. Gave me a slight twinge of home sickness that I seldom feel. Thanks.
