ISS Pass Tonight

Not feeling well enough to set the scope up tonight. Off to bed ASAP...

Here's some piccies of the path of the ISS over my place. I started doing an animation but I'm in no condition to persevere at the moment.

Oly E-510, 400ASA, 14-48mm lens at 14mm, f/3.5, 30 sec exposures, ICNR off, IS off, tripod, wireless remote, manual focus.

Al.

This is a really dumb question from a beginner but what does ICNR stand for? So many acronyms to learn !

Thanks

Lovely captures Al.
I know streetlights are annoying but I love the green hues produced in the foreground.

I flicked through your images and they'd make a nice anim, kind of like a shooting laser in a sci-fi flick.

Hope you feel better soon mate.

Oh and thanks for the heads-up of the flyover.

Whew! What a marathon! I've been struggling to remember how to make an animated GIF in PS CS3... I've been wracking my brain over this the last couple of nights... I could make the animation OK, but couldn't save it as an animated GIF. I had to resort to searching the web... only to find we n you go to save for the web and devices you can do it. It's been too long since I last did an animation obviously!

Anyway, here's the animation of the pass, at about 30x actual speed! It looks a bit noisy... I opted to go lossy to keep the image size up - a bit of a compromise there!

I really like that, Al! And look at the star movement in that short time!

How was the foreground lit? Oh I see - just streetlights. Lovely colour in the flora!

I have a wide selection of sparkly things above my house... 3 streetlights which frequently reflect off clouds, rarely off rain drops and even more rarely off snow flakes... in the virtual world of this animation there are also hot pixels hanging over everyones houses and then there's this sort of visual noise from the lossy compression I used making the animation... but the rarest of all (you won't believe this, I know!) are huge balls of gas, under extremes of pressure and temperature that are a long way away! Rare as hens teeth I believe!

Al.

PS Feeling better now thanks Jeanette! Weird virus I had.
