A bit of the horsey

Twenty five minutes (5 by 5 min) of the horsey, EOS 400D unmodded, TV85, EQ6, Guided.

I went a bit heavy on the red. This is one reason I cant wait for the SBIG to arrive, so I can get all that lovely red.

the unmodded DSLR shows, but its a wonderful shot. very sharp focus.

You can do better with a DSLR on the horsey as Mike and Ezy have shown. You need a lot more data though and still have to push the red. You also always seem to miss out on the curtain effect (at least i do).

Still the horsey is one of my favourite targets and one day i hope to do it justice.

More data and cooler nights should improve the S/N.
My 300D is unmodded so I like to see what they can do.

While I agree, the SBIG will show this in a different light, the HH is one of the most challenging objects, so don't expect the ST2000XCM to be the magic bullet. It needs HEAPS of exposure, then tender processing.

Unusual framing there Paul...adds a new look to it
yeah triple the data should help alot with noise and low Ha transmission of your unmodded camera..

Thanks Leon. It is hard to capture, this was better than my last effort so its a slow learning process.

A bit of luck with the framing . I could of gone much longer but got caught up with a lot of other targets. I should focus on one at a time.

Thanks Ezy. Processing was not much, but it's hard with so little data. I really pushed the red, hopefully with my new camera I wont have to.

I can be tender Gary .

When I get my SBIG i want to do at least 2 hours, It's one of my favourite objects. My previous record was only 50 minutes with the DSLR.
