I shall ask my wife if I'm allowed to post her image somewhere within this thread. While I am sure that each and every one of us considers their partner to be the prettiest or handsomest person in the world (and I do) I am also sure that we didn't marry - or hook up with them - for that reason alone. I married Chris, for that is her name, for what she is and not what she looks like.

Anyhow, I digress: back to the portraits.
I have to apologise John - I've read your post several dozen times, and am still deciding where you were trying to go with this. My wife is neither shallow nor vain - in fact the total antithesis. She has a heart of gold and that is the reason I married her. Maybe I have, indeed, missed your point.

Chris,
What John is saying, and I agree, you wouldn't have married your wife, no matter how beautiful she was, if she wasn't beautiful on the inside as well.
Isn't that true?
No insult was intended at all i'm sure.

I'm sorry John & Jeanette, I misunderstood. I accept that, yes, absolutely. You can't help loving who you do if they've got the right stuff inside them, and are willing to share it.

hmm... i read it too. this is what i get. i guess not every one is comfortable with having thier pics or pics of thier other halves on the web for others to see. some are shy by nature i guess while other are self consious about thier looks.

I put a shot of cheryl up on ausphotography and she just about shot me (not literally i guess). so , she insists on being the photographer because she doesnt want to be photographed. some like it others dont.

... but those are great pics of Jenny Have you thought of doing portraits for money ? cause those turned out rather good
I personally dont do portraits.. I have tried but only seem to be able to pull off half decent candid shots

Whoa! Easy! Settle!

Chris, that is NOT what I meant - in any way manner or form.

In retrospect perhaps I might have been wiser to keep my mouth shut and my fingers off the keyboard. Just because someone is 'easy on the eye' or is photogenic does not mean that they are shallow or vain and (I hope) I didn't express such a thought. If, in your view, I did, and offended Jenny or yourself by my comments, then please accept my apologies.

Right, let's try this. Unfortunately I don't have a decent image of my wife - other than happy snaps at a distance. It is also a photograph of a photograph, so it's terrible.

Anywhatsit, this is Chris (a few years ago )

Yep, I've met Geoffs (Starkler) other half. She is an excellent 'other half'. Never nags, likes to stay up at night and help Geoff with his hobby, impessive, looks good, but very very vain! She always carries her mirror around with her

And the best thing is she doesn't get jealous if I look at another telescope
