For Sale: 8" LX90 EMC + Accessories.

Hi All,

I am selling my 8" LX90 EMC Telescope. And would like to now if there is any local interest in this scope. I am looking for a local buyer who can come and check out the scope and buy.

There is as usual some dust on the Corrector but nothing out of the ordinary that affects its performance in any way. The optics in my humble opinion are Excellent.

Edit:
I Bought it about a year ago and have never touched the optics. The LX90 was purchased overseas in Hong Kong and brought to Australia. The previous owner had it serviced by Bintel to resolve the rubber banding issue, which they have done. I have upgraded the Autostar about 6 months back with the then latest firmware. If you wish I can have the scope serviced and cleaned by Bintel again, i believe this costs about 200$. As I said before the optics are excellent but they do have the usual dust on them. I made the mistake of pointing a torch once at the scope and saw the dust, but i am told this is normal. And my friends who have seen through the scope said it does not affect its performance.

In terms of tracking it is very good, I was able to take snaps of the entire Lunar eclipse without the Moon leaving the FOV. I have also used it for Planet imaging and it is more than up to the, I did not give it a fair go on DSO's but if balanced and guided it would do the job. I only had it on the Wedge once or twic to have a go at DSO's but I did not have a guide scope and my polar alignment was not very good.

The reason for sale is that I have now got the G-11 plus Borg Refractors and I am looking for a 8" SCT to put on my G-11. I rather not remove the Meade OTA as its not so easy to put back and realign, it can be done but its not easy. I would like to setup one mount, check the seeing and be able to swithc OTA's on the one mount. Hence the sale of this scope.

I have had this scope under dark skies at Kulnura and the views were just amazing. I spent most of the night just thinking i will never sell this scope. But alas time has come to part with it.

I am firm on the price and Local Pickup. I wish to meet the new owner and give them a demo if possible (weather permitting). I will also make myself available to that person if ever they need my assistance. Hence a local buyer would get the most benefit out of this. This is the same benefit i have had from the previous owner.
Included RA Finder Scope.

Edited:
$1600 firm for Telescope with Wedge and 3d Balance kit and standard Finder.

Sold separately and will ship in Australia via Post
1. Mead 8" SCT standard counterbalance kit $100.

Regards
Fahim

Hi,
Would you consider selling the wedge separately? If so, how much are you asking?

Mtodman, i would rather sell it as a kit, and then sell left overs if the buyer does not want them.

Looks like all the buyers are in QLD, you must be trying to use the Rain to good advantage up there. I have had 3 offers from QLD and i will keep you all in mind if i decide to go that way. I have been looking at Pack and Send but have not contacted them yet. I will give it some more time to find a local buyer. You know about 2 weeks back there was the same LX90 EMC in QLD for sale but it was withdrawn.

I have a rough estimate from Pack and Send for shipping to Brisbane (since most of the interest seems to be there). I am advised the cost would be about 120$ + 30 (packing estimate) + $65 for Insurance. Depending on packaging requirements it could be a bit more, i will try and see what packing i have that could save this cost a little.

Please note the updated Add and removal of JMI motofocus from options. I have also added notes about the scopes history and condition.

Please note i will take first in to meet the price from today. As until now this was for local pickup only. So please pm me if your still interested.

Fahim

To remove any confusion.

List of whats being sold.
1. LX90 8" EMC + Autostar HC + Tripod + Standard finder + Bob's collimation knobs.
2. APM 909 Module.
3. Computer connection cable.
4. Wedge + Adapter Plate.
5. 1.25" Diagonal
6. 1.25" Visual Back
7. Clear Filter (not sure what this is used for other than keeping the OTA sealed.
8. 3d Counter wight system. plus installation manual.

9. Now I forgot as i have not used the Standard finder, but one of the screws that holds the finder has a slightly worn out thread. So what I will do is add a RA Finder + its own mounting bracket, this was purchased to replace the original finder and its bracket. The Russian one is a bit bulky (not uncommon for Russian made stuff). I was keeping this for the C8 but it came with one so i don't need it.

All the above for $1600 + Shipping and Insurance. Note if you don't want insurance then I will not be responsible for any damages for the equipment in transit. I will label items as Fragile and which way up etc.

Russian finder and JMI motofocus removed from this sale.

Also the Standard 1d kit is sold separately to anyone here who needs one for 100$ plus shipping.

I am keeping the Tape role and I will remove the electric tape i put on the focuser knob. Unless you really want this. It worked well for me as a fine focus knob. And its not as cold as the focus knob, on those cold nights.

Regards
Fahim
