3D Orion Nebula

I have spent the last 4 hours re-doing the 3D effect on my M42 image.

I have finally worked out how to do it right :thumb:
This one is 'VERY' 3D!!!!
I had to make 6 seperate '3D' panels in Callipygian then sectional layer them in PhotoShop to achieve all the different distances.

Here is the reworked M42 image in 3D.

Red goes over the left eye. Green over the right eye. If you don't have 3D glasses, make some from cellophane or use coloured filters.

Tip: If you cannot see the full 3D effect immediately, focus on the gas at the far back of the nebula and in a few seconds you should see everything pop into 3D.

You can make the image any size. Make it huge in Zoomfox and Zoom waaayyy in and it still works

Here is todays effort.

I took this image of M101 Pinwheel Galaxy back in December 2007, but gave it the 3D treatment today. This is 3 hours of work!

Not just the stars, I even went to the trouble of making the Galaxy's spiral arms 3D, and objects even beyond the Galaxy

Fantastic effort Ken, luckily I had a copy of Shrek3D which came with some ready made 3D glasses. Your next assignement is Omega Centauri...

Thanks Phil.

Omega Centauri has been done in 3D by others, and my Omega Centauri pics aren't of the quality to look good.

I might give one of my Carina shots or NGC 253 shots a go, I don't think they've been done in 3D before.
