Tarantula, 80 minutes

Hi Guys & Gals ,

Finally got some clear skies so spent 80 minutes on the Tarantula. I found the processing very difficult as i am still not sure what i am doing .

Location, Glebe
Scope, TV85 with 0.8 reducer
Filters, Astronomic UHC, BAADER UV/IR
Mount, EQ6
Guiding, PHD
Camera, EOS 400D unmodded

Lights, 20 by 4 minutes
Darks, 7 by 4 minutes

Processing, DSS stacked in 4 batches of 5
Photoshop, Levels, Curves, then Unsharp
Neatimage

Then cropped and reduced/compressed in irfanview

Paul

Paul, well done much more detail than my effort last night on the same object. Still processing mine but i kept it to 60s subs and i think its to short and i have no filters. Your 4mins+filters subs have produced very nicely defined nebulosity.

Regards

thats a nice result Paul!
You should be able to pull more detail from your data once your processing skill improve!
