Would really like to go to BSG this year.

I missed last year's due to the move to Brisbane.

Is it going to be on at the same time as Astrofest this year?

That'd make for a tough decision but I'd probably have to go with my 'home' event.

Matt

I think that Astrofest is at the beginning of August this year. I would love to do an Astrofest one year, if I could squeeze it in I would do both.

Hopefully we will see you at 2009.

Cheers Petra

Hi all

Come on guys - there will be penthouses for both of you...

We have been overwhelmed by the support of residents here in the border region and by the various sites that have approached us to host Border Stargaze 2008.

We should be finalising the package within days and announcing the details very shortly. We are getting extremely excited about what we will be able to offer .

Stay tuned....

Cheers Petra

Hi all
We have been absolutely blown away by the amount of interest we have received from various potential sites in our region that are keen to host Border Stargaze 2008.

But at the end of the day we have chosen a site that we feel provides all the important elements of a good Star Party get together.

The Astronomical Society of Albury Wodonga is proud to announce that Border Stargaze 2008 will return to Wymah Valley Retreat formerly known as The Great Aussie Resort. The exciting news is that the retreat has undergone a major transformation. Accommodation has been added and upgraded, including the addition of a bunkhouse and teachers accommodation.
Camping sites - now have an ensuite!

We are very committed to keeping the accommodation and food pricing as low as possible, and at the same time offering a added bonus to all that register as with last years event.

Details and photos of the new accommodation types and rates will be announced as soon registration goes live in late February

More information shortly.

Cheers Petra

That is terrific news Petra! It is a great location, and the upgraded facilities will be a bonus. Also nice to hear that you are getting a lot of local support for the event - it has to be good for the region.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this year's Border Stargaze, woo-hoo! Don't miss it if you can possibly get there!!

Cheers -

Great news for a great community event, and for someone who usually camps last years BSG was pure luxury.

I've spoken to one two people who wanted to come with their families but were reluctant, they assumed the accommodation was like the cabins/facilities at Lostock or Snake valley - I put them right.

Where do I sign.

Just a couple of teasers

Hi all,
The photos were taken today and they give you a pretty good idea of what to expect. More will follow as we get the opportunity to visit the site over the coming months.
Cheers

Hi John

It will be good to see you both again.

The site looks great! They have done a lot of work to upgrade all accommodation types, without any major impacts to the observing fields.

I just cant get over the fact that the camper van sites now have ensuites - I have never seen that before.

Cheers Petra
