Losmandy ST-4 Cable diagram

Hi All,

I have plenty of Serial cables and Telephone cables lying about and wanted to chop two up and just rewire them to make a cable for guiding. Does anyone have the wire diagram for a cable to suit the ST-4 port on the Losmandy Digital Drive.

Regards
Fahim

Hi Fahim

The SBIG website has a number of application notes and you may find something there. Just scroll down the page and look for the ST-4 stuff.

Cheers

Thanks Dennis, I found this one on this link
http://www.sbig.com/pdffiles/Relay_A...Box_Cable3.pdf
But am uncertain if this can be used to connect to a PC. As the drawing indicates it should only be used with ST7/8 relay box.

Hi Fahim

I have made a couple of auto guider cables to connect various equipment to SBIG gear:

Vixen Skysensor 2000 to SBIG ST7.
Tak EM200 Temma II to SBIG ST7.
Tak EM200 Temma II to CFW8A / ST7 combo.

I have generally found the information a little difficult to get so I ended up matching the RA+, RA-, DEC-Up, DEC-Down and Ground pin descriptions from the Vixen and Tak specs to the SBIG specs and this has always worked.

The attached screen print from the URL shows two ST-4 entries (1st and last) that may be helpful?

Another suggestion would be to check the Files section in the Losmandy Yahoo Group – I suspect there should be a description there, just like there was on the Tak Yahoo Group.

Here is another link that may be useful:

Cheers
