Why won't the clouds leave me alone?

Why won't the clouds leave me alone?

Ever since I purchased my scope the clouds have not cleared up. I might have had about 3 clear nights in the past 2 months. Yes, you guessed it…. I am very FRUSTRATED. It is really annoying when you have your new equipment all set up ready to go and all you can do is stare at it. At least it looks good.

Now that my new camera has arrived… Yes, you guessed it yet again… It’s cloudy. I seriously don’t know what it is about these clouds. It is like they follow my wherever I go. I think I’ve got the New Astronomy Equipment curse.

I just had to let off some steam.

Yea, Matt we know that frustrating feeling, it happens to all of us, but the pain is all forgotten when we get a ripper night, either that or you bought to much astro stuff.

Yep, I've been in that nightmare for a long long time.

I think I need to finish off my "List of Things to Buy" whilst it is still cloudy.

It might just work.

Always one thing after another.

It is either...

clear all day, clear night but very poor seeing

or

clear all day, then the clouds roll in at night

or

cloudy all day, you know the rest

or

When you are really busy and have no chance of a stargazing session, Guess what... crystal clear skies

or

if you are lucky, clear skies (1 out of 10 )

Don't worry Matt, I'm just down the road from you and it's not much different. Ah the joys of Amateur Astronomy.

By the way are you a member of the CAS?

Cheers

No not yet, I will be one soon.

I am so pissed off.

chin up old boy........clouds are wimps.....if you tap your heels together of your red shoes and say three times.

"there's no such thing as clouds"
"there's no such thing as clouds"
"there's no such thing as clouds"

if said with enough conviction, they disappear!

David, it looks like it worked. Today there is blue sky with scattered cloud here and there. Hopefully it will clear up and give me a chance to try out my new camera.

You miserable lot. You sent them up here
I wish it would just rain and make it worth it rather than the annoying grey.

Don't blame us, blame the clouds!

I agree, rain would be better than the irritating grey sheet of clouds.

I might be lucky tonight, clear skies are just ahead. I'm guessing.
