Comet C/2007 F1 (LONEOS)

Hi All,

Captured from Melbourne this evening (9-11-2007).

Meade 10" RCX, SBig ST-10XME, LRGB (150, 75, 75, 75 secs)

Wish it was a bit higher, I got some bad reflected light from the top of the observatory.

Cheers
Stuart

Lovely image Stuart, i'm hoping to capture it this week when the weather clears.

Great work.

Hi Stuart

A very nice image; the nucleus, halo, tail and colours are amazing for such relatively short exposures. How did you manage to guide on the comet?

Cheers

Dennis

Hi Dennis,

Easy, the shots are unguided. Each of the LRGB images were 15 or 30 second subs. The mount tracks at sidereal rate and the images stacking software is just aligned on the comet head.

Cheers
Stuart
