Where are they now?

If our Sun gave off it first burst of light say 5/6 billion years ago...and given the Universe was expanding I ask how far away would we find the initial energy of our star has reached? Would it be red shifted to such a degree that other beings seeing the light now ..where they are.. would think our star is in fact a red giant... such that they interpret our stars birth as actually its demise???

Geez Alex. Your questions always make my brain hurt!

Haven't you got any easy questions like: 'How far is 'up'?

Yeah, they probably see our star as a big red fella with no planets yet.

the reference to they be a reference to the packets of light we call photons I guess... sounds more personal to use a personal pronoun even if we dont know their family names.

Given the premise that our star will become a red giant one wonders what all the fuss is around the "global warming" issue or more corretly titled "Historic climate change" or even more correct titled "solar planetary evolution".
Will installing neuclear power plants stop the Sun getting so big it devours us.

Mr Gore please say we can stop it by buying your DVD.
