Kanangra Views

We did a little bushwalk today - the first for a long time. We have been very slack lately. We walked out to Crafts Wall in the Kanangra Boyd National Park to put a new visitor's book there as the old one was full.

Here are a few panoramas I shot along the way. All taken with the Olympus E-510 and photomerged, minor adjustments and unsharp mask, resized and saved for the web in PS CS3. These images are all about 10% of the originals. Very happy with the performance of the Oly E-510 for this sort of work - very sharp!

All photos were handheld, and taken in atrocious wind conditions (it's just like seeing - you have to wait for it to settle to take a shot). The wind got worse as the day went on, so I was pleased to get home without wearing a widow-maker!

Al.

I suppose one could say, "The long, the short, and the tall".

Nice ones.

Hi Al

Love the composition in the first shot. It really gives you a sense of what the place is like and how big it is.

Lovely shots Al, well captured.
I love how you gain a sense of scale from these shots.

Well done.

Nice shots Al, I wanted to visit that place when we were at the blue mountains a few years ago but only made it as far as Jenolan Caves.

Kanangra Main Canyon starts at the top left and goes down and across the frame obviously. Kalang Falls Canyon comes into frame a little over half way up the left hand side. Both are absolutely superb places to spend a day! Great swimming holes too! But you need to abseil to get in and out...

Maybe next time! There are some superb views in Kanangra, but most are a reasonable day's walk or more to get to. These ones are the easy-to-get-to views!

Al.
