long exposure 4 imaging source cameras

Has anyone used any of these cameras for anything other than planetary... ie deep sky

what is your opinion anyway even if you havent..

those that have, can you post a pic and comment on how you found it

1ponders has used the DMK for long exposures, do a search just in case he doesn't see this for a while.

I don't think they have cooling do they? That might limit their use for long exposure.

Hi Al, you can check out Eta Carina and a couple of others here , here, here and here.

I was hoping to get back and try a few more but never got around to it. I think it has pretty good potential for only an 8 bit camera.

i liked the effort on the homonculus. Seems it has some potential. (how would it compare for sensitivity to your cannon)
once i organise the colour filters i will have a go , if it performs well then a larger version could be a viable alternative.

Appreciate your effort in providing the links.

There is certainly a higher gain level with the DMK than the Canon 300D even at 1600 ISO. The DMK though has a better resolution at 5.6 micron pixels compared to the 7.4 of the Canon.
