ISS Heads Up!

Hey guys...

The ISS is putting in a couple of good evening appearances for SE Australia next week, on the 22nd and 23rd September. There are other evening passes around this time which may be suitable of others in say Adelaide, so check out either Heavens-Above or your satellite tracking software for details.

I'll do my best Mike! (though that's no guarantee... I've been known to remember 10 minutes after the pass...)

Guess what, Mike???

Yeah, I missed 'em...

Only just though about it. It's hard to get good help isn't it?

I've been preoccupied working on the house to get it ready to paint and re-carpet to get it on the market. And on Saturday I was looking after my grandson Zack and then we entertained friends and extended family for dinner as well. I haven't even done any more processing of the lunar images I captured on Friday night!

Hopefully it will all pay off. We have found a place out of town that suits us really well but we've just got to sell his place so we can buy it before someone else does. So all this preparing to sell, etc is interfering with my astronomy ATM, but hopefully, if all goes well, it will be worth it. I would love to be able to observe/image from my backyard... and ultimately build an obs!

She was nice and bright this evening up on the north coast, I happened to
be over at a friends place who have never seen it before. First they didn't
believe me that what they were looking at was the ISS it was so bright.
They thought it was a plane lol, but I said... ok where the beacon, wait for
a lil bit and it's head into the earth shadow. When it did that they then
believed me. I think they thought I was pulling their leg or something. I
think heavens above said it would be around -2.4 as swing past my place.

Boy those extra planels sure make a difference

regards,CS
