You need to use layers. I don't have time to explain more right now, but do a search and that'll get you started.

Mike, can you extend your offer a little further....please. I think Baz got his done - in another thread - and very nicely too.. I have to try to montage for the first time, over the next few days (currently scanning negative frames) and suspect I'll quickly become lost in the layers and will cry out

Eric and Fahim, I offered to help Baz over the phone this evening (Thu) as PhotoShop layers, etc. are easier to talk about and demonstrate (even remotely) than write about. Looks like he found the info elsewhere and did a good job. I'll look into doing an article for IIS but I'd want to make it better than anything I've found on the web so far and that'd take some time to do properly.

In the meantime, we could try similar phone assistance when you have some images ready to go - but not until next week as I'll be away until Monday. PM me or e-mail m.oakey@unsw.edu.au if you want to give it a go.

I am unable to learn how to do layers, and I have read all the tutorials and attempted it many times. But I just can't get the hang of it. So when I want to do something like this, I cut and paste, or copy and paste

Thanks Rajah, good point.

Trouble is, it's a work address that's in various places already and I have a 30:1 spam:real ratio that I've learned to live with. (Can it get any worse? )

Please don't dump me in the SPAM bucket when my emails come through. I've got a certain distance and now not sure what to do. I have lots of images in various layers, but cannot work out what tools I need to manipulate them further. Thanks Mike.

Eric
