JUPITER tonight 1st Sep - first pic in over a year!!!!

Hi all, gave both the Phillips 900nc webcam and the DMK a run early this evening. Reckon the seeing was ok say 6/10.

Still have a few avis to run, but the webcam stuff comes up pretty cruddy... need to relearn to boost up that Gain!!!

The attached is from my DMK, the C9.25 and 2x vixen barlow with extension of 8cm and running 30fps for 30 sec R, G, B on the Honemeyer filter wheel - true technology filters. Plenty of mistakes in the processing - 3 iterations of LR at 1.2 for each colour channel... but this on jpegs rather than BMPs cos I wasn't thinking

A nice view with the GRS front and near centre and a moon adding to the setting. I've done a lot better, but then again I've done quite a bit worse so I'm happy with this first attempt return to the fray

I've got some other DMK to run, I'll see what comes out of 'em

Nice work, Rob, after being 'out of the game' for soooo long

I've tried capturing a few joops with just the ToUcam since I've arrived in Brisbane but they've not turned out very well at all, and certainly nowhere near as good as that image.

Well done, mate. Good to have you back and imaging again

Geez Rob, that is a stunning Joop, first go back at it or not!

It looks so real! It is not over-processed, the colours are beautiful, Focus looks fantastic, etc etc.

I love it. Well done.

getting better?

thanks Guys... I processed the next set of avis. Think this one is an improvement. At least the colour looks better (less red).

They're both rippers, Rob, but you're right - the second one is even better.

A very welcome back! Nicely done and looking forward to more from you.

Two of the smoothest images I've seen this season, excellent comeback.

They're both just beautiful, Rob. A great result, expecially for so late in the season.

Thanks for the kind comments fella's; actually this is the first time I've used the DMK and the 900nc on the same night... I was surprised just how much sharper the images with the DMK actually are... then again it could be because it's easier to focus the DMK on a single colour channel

nice work robert, looks like we were imaging at around the same time. Fairly "typical" seeing condition from Melbourne
