North of the Equator

While in Europe recently, I snapped these pics of Venus framed by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, The London Eye & at picturesque Murten in Switzerland. Also was a big buzz to see Polaris, the Big Dipper & Cassiopeia as well. The latter 2 being as easily recognisable as the Southern Cross & the Pointers.
All pics taken with a pair of Nikon D200's with 2 zoom lenses: a nikkor 17-55 f2.8 & a nikkor 80-200 f2.8

Hey, nicely done Robin. Welcome back. Glad to see you still had your priorities straight gettin' astropics while you were OS.

Thanks Paul. We had a great time & without wanting to offend any of our northern hemisphere IIS'ers, we really do have the greatest skies south of the equator
BTW...big thanks for locating the "$$$ that went walkabout"

Thanks guys, it was a hoot seeing the sky from a northern perspective. Having to look south to see objects in the sky & barely 4 hours of darkness in northern England during midsummer was really special.
Yeah, its been ages for me Mike but work & other committments have been in the way but back into the sky again. Its been great to see the rise & rise of your outstanding planetary imaging & AS&T work too Mike.
