Making your own Astro WEb Page

Hi Guys,

Quite some time ago a member, I think it was Striker, discussed an article about putting together your own web page with your own astro images and such.

In that discussion he listed a place to visit so one could actually put together this sort of thing but i have now lost, and or forgotten where to go to find that sort of info.

Would any kind person here please assist if possible, i would like to try my hand at this, or at least look at the options available.

Thank You.

Leon

Thanks Ian, you are sort of on the right track there, but the one i was thinking about was a Google page or similar and it was free to do as well, however i will have a look at the info you sent me.

Thanks Andrew.

Once this pesky moon gives us a break, we hope to be able to add some better images with the new mount.

Leon the first thing you need to do is open a google account.

It's totally free and will the let you in to page creator to make your page.

If you start google you will see the signin link on the top right of the page, click sign in and then you will see the new account box.

You will need to establish an account name and you may have to try several names before it is accepted.
We finished up barb.david.1, but you may want to try something like astroleon or whatever you may think of.

Once this is done you can then start creating your pages.

Let me know how you get on.

David

Hi David, well i got into the site and it has acceppted my sign in stuff, and so on, so that is a good start.

I started to put something together, then thought about the images, do they have to be a certain size, or are they automatically reduced in size.

Just a little more help here and i think i might be able to do this.

Also how do i keep getting back to the page i was working on when i have closed it so to speak

Thanks You Leon

Leon we usually resize our images to 800x600 or 1024x768.

If the image is of good quality then use 1024x768. We resize with VSO Image Resizer ( that's the program I told you about ).

After closing the page you can go back to the Site Manager and click on the blue link to the page you were working on and load another image.
